i love me some change. especially when it’s of the upgrade nature. after five years with my make-shift blog, i thought it time to move-on and clean things up a little bit. it was scary though. change has that effect on me sometimes because it requires a learning curve and lots of adjustments and perhaps some level of discomfort. but in the end, it’s all fine and dandy and worth all the pain and agony it takes to make said change. change is good my friends. it is often difficult however to bring oneself to actually make the shift. it requires re-evaluation of priorities, of purpose, of self, of identity. it requires that you gain clarity and new direction. so lately, that’s what i have been doing. i’ve been doing some checking-in and even some soul searching in order than i may move forward and continue to grow as an artist, person and entreprenuer.

streamline. in my busyness, i get bogged down with the everydayness of running a creative business and often times, the mundane and medial tasks suck the creative life out of me. so i’ve been working on streamlining my workflow and eliminating unnecessary time-consuming tasks so that i can focus on other things and use my time more effectively. i used to spend hours and hours prepping images for the blog so they were all branded and such for i feared the inevitiable thieving of images. for the new blog, i’ve opted not to and trust that people will treat my images with love and that if they do end up elsewhere in cyberspace without credit, hopefully conversation will eventually point them back to the brand. wishful thinking? perhaps. we will see how it goes. but i’m excited for a cleaner more streamlined look and process. yay.

fine-tune + update. with the advent of new technologies every day and the rapid pace at which our industry moves, it’s far too easy to fall behind. so in recent weeks, i’ve spent quite a bit of time updating and fine-tuning my online presence. i think it necessary to do this as often as possible to keep the brand spic-and-span and relevant. it’s good for it. and one the website front, it’ terribly easy to update and refresh my website with showit.

remind. every few months, i find myself in need of a few reminders. where am i? where do i want to be? how can i get there? why am i doing what i’m doing? and who am i becoming in the process? these questions bring clarity and focus to my vision both personally and professionally. luckily, i have many people who help remind me who i am and why i do what i do. one of those key people in my life is michele mollkoy and i love her everso for it.

so alas, welcome to my new blog. i hope you find yourself comfortable here and at least slightly amused or entertained or happy at least. please do say hello by leaving a comment or two. i quite enjoy engaging in cyber conversation and i would love to connect.

happy day.
– j.
