he hauled up the bails of hay his bride would walk between and from which his guests would witness the biggest event in his life. he built the arbor that would be perched hilltop peering down-canyon and out across the pacific. beneath it he would marry his beloved. she collected the vintage glass jars and vases that would adorn the plank tables and be filled with fresh flowers. she dreamed up an event where she could celebrate her wedding day with her nearest and dearest, where formalities and traditions were unimportant, where she could scoop ice cream for all her guests alongside her husband, where her friends could roast a mallow or two, or gleefully pile into a booth for a strip of silly photos. together (with the help of their friends and family) tiffany + david created their dream wedding, one that was all their own and unique to who they were. throughout the day, he exclaimed to his bride, “i love our wedding!” and it’s not wonder. it was fabulous.

tiffany + david’s wedding took place at the beautiful el capitan canyon resort just north of santa barbara where rustic details and spanning vistas were aplenty. it was utter perfection and made for quite the backdrop for epic photo goodness. the moment i stepped onto the property, i was smitten and knww i was in for a decedent treat. and to make it all the sweeter tiffany + david are the types of people you can’t help but want to hang out with. all day. they are fun, energetic, caring and madly in love with each other. we carved out quite a significant chunk of time for photos before the wedding because they wanted to experience their wedding to the fullest and they wanted as many images of that day, those moments, that story as possible. needless to say, we had a blast roaming the dirt roads, crunching through the fallen oak leaves, swatting flies, and laughing. a lot. and without further ado, i give you tiffany + david’s wedding editorial…(for more the complete editorial, view the slideshow here.)

i loved tiffany’s boots. so fun. and of course, her gorgeous bouquet made by her maid-of-honor/sister.

tiffany’s maggie sottero gown.

i spent the morning with tiffany and the ladies, and we laughed a lot. tiffany’s bridesmaids were incredibly attentive to her every need and helped ease the tension of the big day with laughs, jokes, and bottles of water. one of my dearest friends dannah was among the bridesmaids, and it was an absolute delight to have her there.

my buddy and awesome photographer, montana dennis, shot with me and got to spend the morning with the guys. i love this series he got of all of the groomsmen helping david get ready.

tiffany + david opted for an intimate hilltop first look and montana captured this awesome image of tiffany walking towards david.

montana’s angle.

an now for an awesome series of the studly groom and gorgeous bride. i had so many favorites, i couldn’t resist posting quite a few.

the crew. and what a fun crew at that. they made me laugh. a lot.

david as his bride walks toward him. i love that his dad is in the foreground.

this moment never ceases to make for an emotional photograph, and it often becomes one of my favorites from the day.

the post-wedding glow and a little shout-out to one of tiffany’s favorite images from their engagement shoot.

the best grand entrance i have experienced to date…beach crusiers.

i loved the photo booth and type-writer for notes of blessings and well-wishes.

i love this grainy, vintage-esque shot montana got of tiffany’s dad giving a toast.

they opted for ice cream instead of cake and as a way to say hello to all their guests, they scooped it. how cool is that? and there was a campfire and s’mores and lots of dancing. what a night.

and i end with one of my favorite shots of the night…tiffany and her family getting their groove on. seriously, such a fun fam.

tiffany + david, thank you for inviting me to capture your day. it was a joy and honor. i adore you both and wish you all the best. hope costa rica is amazing.

    Jeff and Montana,

I have seen a lot of talent over the years but your artistry takes my breath away. The Lord has definitely bestowed you with a talent very few others can claim. You were never intrusive and you made everyone comfortable. It was a pleasure to have you chronicle such an important day in our family’s life. What a gift!
    Sincerely,
    Scott and Joyce Fleming

  3. Nancy & Curt Fleming says:

What a lovely and joyous event! Thank you so much for supplying such a creative, unique venue for us to share together. And to be witness to the sweet and innocent love expressed was an honor. We have loved watching Tiffany grow up and see her mature into a bright and beautiful woman. David, you must be special (we are just getting to know you!) to land her.
And what fabulous, outstanding pictures!! You like movie stars.
With much love to the happy couple,
Nancy and Curt (Aunt & Uncle)
