today marks the two year anniversary of the official launch of j. shipley photography. geesh! it snuck up on me, and i can hardly believe that at this very time two years ago, i was up in my hotel room at the montecito inn running through my launch party schpeel with sara truppo. wow. that night still holds a very special place in my heart. i’ll never forget that moment when i asked danny if i could use the lower parking garage at the montecito inn for my launch party and he said yes. or how my poor mother scrubbed oil spots off the concrete so no one would slip. or how my dad wired all the lighting for the artwork, made me a custom “j” room divider, and stayed up all night setting it all up with me. or the sight of liane koh, larissa stai and lauren salaun labeling hundreds of water bottles. i’ll never forget how sara forced me to stop primping long enough to review the notecards she made for me. or how awesome it was to see the video heschle made for me on the big screen. or how kelsey quinlan helped maintain my sanity and reminded me to breathe not to mention how she made it all happen night of. sigh.

as a sort of ode & homage to that night, i thought i would repost the images i shared two years ago, and of course, give some more love to all the people that made it happen. thank you so much. i seriously couldn’t have done it with out you and i’m eternally grateful for all the work, energy and love you put into making that night incredibly memorable and special for me. i would not be where i am today if it wasn’t for you. thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
