If you know me, you may know that my favorite season is fall. I love any excuse to wear a coat and wrap a scarf around my neck. I love a good bowl of soup and cup of hot apple cider. I practically do a happy dance every time I spot a changing leaf, and I stomp around my parent’s backyard just so I can hear the sound of crunching beneath my feet. And to make autumn all the sweeter, I often have weddings back home this time of year, and I tell you what, it’s seriously the best and most beautiful time to get married in the Sierras. Yup. And this year was no exception…

Danielle + William said “I do” on the most perfect fall day lakeside surrounded by stunning mountain peaks and of course their nearest and dearest family and friends. Lucky for us (and for the photos), the afternoon brought with it a layer of clouds that created the most wonderful diffused light. It worked perfectly for the vibe and style of the wedding…soft, romantic, dreamy with a touch of drama and pop. i.e. Danielle’s fierce Steve Madden heels and of course, you put anything against the backdrop of Convict Lake Resort and you can’t help but get a sense of BAM! It is literally breathtaking and, of course, one of my favorite places in the Eastern Sierra. But beyond the amazing location and the dreamy light, the people involved were downright awesome. Between the fantastic couple, the adventurous and hilarious groomsmen, the helpful and fabulous bridesmaids, and the bride and groom’s sweet families, we were in for a fun, exciting and memorable day, and it was nothing short of amazing.

Special thanks to the awesome  team we had the pleasure of working with…Venue & Catering // Convict Lake Resort, Floral Design // Debbie Harper, Cake // Sue Ebersol, DJ & Video// Slash Dot Creative, Bride’s Hair // Taylor Eastman, Bride’s Gown // Bridal & Veil, Brides’s Shoes // Steve Madden, Jewelry & Tuxes // Michelle’s Fine Jewelry & Gift

After saying hello to the ladies and the bride, I hung out with the boys for a bit while Isaac got getting ready shots of the ladies. Here’s william looking all sorts of dapper. And the boys out on the jetty…by far one of my favorite groomsman shots to date. I’m relieved no one slipped into the lake. That would be have be awkward in those grey tuxes. Haha.

Danielle’s gorgeous gown…

A pairing of my two favorites details shots a la Isaac James. Danielle’s brother Taylor styled her hair.

Hey Steve Madden.

STUNNING!!!

Danielle’s bridesmaids were awesomely attentive to her every need and I love this shot of them helping her get her fierce heels on.

How breathtaking is this setting?! Wow. It was the perfect backdrop for the heartfelt and simply beautiful ceremony.

A little surprise from Will…it was awesome.

Isaac got the this great shot of the Bridesmaids while I was shooting Danielle on the horse. How fun is this?

Such a fun group of women…many of whom I went to high school with. Lana (pictured with Danielle on the left) is one of my oldest friends. We played together as babies and have been friends ever since. Sigh. I love that girl.

This pairing exemplifies William’s absolute love and adoration for his bride. Sigh. The one of Isaac got of him holding her shoes is my favorite image from the day. It’s subtle but tells such a beautiful story.

We had a hot ten minutes to do their portraits because it was starting to rain, and my oh my did they work it. Seriously, that make it so easy!

I can’t get over how absolutely gorgeous Danielle is…

The tent was romantic, dreamy and cozy and was the perfect setting for the delicious dinner and dance party.

One of the best grand entrances I’ve seen. How fun is this?

Danielle and two of her best friends post for a self portrait . I love it.
