Sarah is quite literally one of the sweetest people I know. She’s the type of person who makes the lasting first impression where you walk away thinking, “She may very well be the nicest person I know!” She and Isaac have been friends for many years and went to college together, and I for one am thrilled they stayed in touch. I first met Sarah in Vegas last year while Isaac and I were attending WPPI (an annual photography convention). We snuck away from the conference one evening to see her in Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian and met up with her afterwards. She understudies the role of Christine Daae. Can you believe that?! We got the chance to go back and see her perform as Christine in July and she was unbelievable. Seriously. You have to go see it just hope and pray she’s on as Christine that night. You can check if she’s scheduled to perform here. Anyhow, at dinner we told her of our idea to start doing websites for artists and she insisted that we do a website for her. We warned her that she would be a bit of a guinea pig, but she happily obliged and was thrilled to be our first official client.

INSPIRATION
A few weeks later she came out to LA for her first design consultation. But instead of just meeting at Starbucks, the three of us opted to spend the afternoon at the gorgeous Huntington Library & Gardens. Turns out it was JUST the aesthetic she was looking for and it proved to be the perfect jumping off point for the whole vibe and look of the site…you see, Sarah plays the classic ingenue. She has the most exquisite soprano and is absolutely stunning to boot. She needed a website as a place to send fans and as a place she could send casting directors to as well so they could get a sense of her experience, look, and voice. She wanted her site to romantic, feminine, and warm and she also wanted it to be easy to navigate and rather straight-forward and simple. So here’s the inspiration board we created…

FEATURES
Sarah’s site features scrolling photo galleries for her show photos, promo images, headshots, and behind the scenes photos. It also includes video and audio galleries and a scrolling resume as well as a downloadable version for easy access for agents and casting directors.

PROMO PHOTOS
Included in most of our design packages is a lifestyle photo shoot so that we can create images that match your image/brand and so with the overall aesthetic of the site. We enlisted the fabulous Jennifer Nardo for hair & make-up and Isaac, Sarah & I styled her wardrobe. Here are a handful of my favorites…

Isaac started things off with this amazing image…isn’t she gorgeous?

I then noticed that there was this awesome light coming through the trees that was then reflected off a nearby building and I snapped this shot…

Sarah then put on a gorgeous purple gown and Jen pulled her hair up some for a more formal, evening look. We then found this awesome portico, wall and fountain to shoot by. I got the one of the left and Isaac the one on the right.

I had envisioned the shot on the right form the start since I saw an old Vanity Fair portrait online (which is in the inspiration board). The tricky part was that the wall was so high that I was shooting up on her. So to get a better angle, I climbed on Isaac shoulders. Haha. And that is how it is done. I think this may be my favorite image. Sarah, you are stunning. Sigh.

Next up, a more sexy, night-on-the-town look with her hair pulled all the way up and large disc earrings and this awesome sequins number Sarah brought. Get it girl. Isaac rocked it out on the top of the parking structure.

And I did some stairway shots. Bam.

And then to wrap up the on location portion of the shoot, Sarah and I took a few nighttime frames along Green Street.

Then we went back to the apartment and created this awesome and fun series of images in our make-shift studio in front of the famous purple wall.
