As we wound our way up the dirt road, oak trees inched by and fallen leaves crunched beneath the tires. The sky was the brightest of blue and there was a cool, crispness in the air…leftover from the morning, coastal fog I suppose. Upon our arrival to the beautiful reception hall at Spanish Oaks Ranch, we spotted friends and family milling about in preparation for the festivities ahead. It was a perfect day for Caitlin & Jay to say “I do” and to celebrate the beginning of their married bliss, and we were more than thrilled to get to spend that day photographing it all.

Being photographer’s themselves, Caitlin & Jay planned the an event that had no shortage of beautiful details and was delightfully intimate, creative, and downright fun. Between the hand sewn napkins, rustic florals and countless romantic, vintage touches, the wedding was personal and cozy and perfectly suited for the happy couple. Beyond the decor, the company was a treat. Their family and friends were the sweetest and most lively of people, and we couldn’t have asked for a more fun group to spend the day with. Needless to say, I loved this wedding and I adore this couple. They are the best. Fo’ reals. Ok without any further blah, blah, blah, I give you Caitlin & Jay’s rustic San Luis Obispo wedding editorial. As always, you can find more of their photography collection on their wedding website HERE.

Caitlin, you are stunning.
And don’t you just love her bouquet? It had cotton in it. COTTON. Le sigh!

Isaac’s brilliant idea to use the umbrellas from the ceremony for a little fun with the bridesmaids. Love it.

And I love how Caitlin opted for a unified color palette for the bridesmaids dresses but let them choose the dress that suited them best. And that my friends makes some happy bridesmaids. And they looked gorgeous!
After hanging out with the ladies, we met up with groom who was looking all sorts of dapper.

Jay gifted a personalized hankie to his mom and is led to the sweetest moment ever. I love this picture!

Atta boy!
“Jay” bird tats. Oh yes.
The gorgeous ceremony site was to die for and made for the most perfect space to say I do. And the light….wow!
I just love this pairing Isaac captured.
Always one of my favorite moments of the day.
And now onto my favorite part of the day…couple portraits.
Margaritas for cocktail hour? Um, yes please. And how cute are those straws?
This was so fun. The bridal party made a tunnel and then Jay popped a bottle of champagne to start the night off right. Loved it!

They totally rocked their first dance….A waltz if I recall correctly…and it was flawless.
This group of people DANCED. Let me tell you. What an awesome party. And they opted for ice cream sundaes and creme brûlée instead of cake. #numnums
Perfection.
I love sparkler send-offs. They are such a rush and make for such great photos.
Special thanks to the amazing creative team we got to work alongside.
